My Expectations for High School

There are many things that are expected as a high school experiance. My expectations for a high school is to over all is to do my best and put my best effort in to it. Which as it happens, hasn't been happening. But thats what i expect out of myself, not high school. What i expect out of the next four years is to be given a good education to prepare me for my future.

Some of the things i expect to learn is, for one, to become a better singer. Thats really what i want to do in my life. I also expect to become better at math, and to actually understand the science that is being taught. And also to become a better writer which would help me with my future carreer. Though in the end, teachers can teach but the teaching would fall on deff ears if the students do not put in the effort and time to try.

life lessons

One of the important life lessons Jem and Scout learn is that you dont always have to react to other peoples antagintium.Their father teaches this to them by explaning why he didnt react to Bob Ewell.Atticus didnt reacat because he knew that if he did the sitation would become worse than it was.
Atticus didnt took what Bob said so that "...Mayella dosnt have to suffer another beating...". jem and scout notice there fathers sacrifice, no matter how small. and they relize that in life you dont always have to retailiate. This can be compared to my life because i have learned something very similar this week and was a good operunite to reflect on that.

Atticus is not like the other parents in Maycomb, not only in the area of his age but the area of his intrests and parenting as well. He unlike the other parnet in Maycomd does not lie to his children to keep them blissfully ignorant but instead he tells them the facts and the truth even if they dont understand it at that point, ''But i never figured out how Atticus knew i was listening, and it was not until many years later that i relized he wanted me to hear everyword he said." his views are very black and white, right and wrong, there seems to be little if an shades of gray with him. He does'nt judge other people until he has all the facts and even then he gives them the benifit of the doubt, refering back to the time Jem and Scout were playing the 'Boo Radley game' and Atticus ordered them to stop teasing him. He as a parnet tries to instill this in to his children along with a longing for justice.

My parnents are similar to Atticus in only a couple retrospects, such as not judging people and and intilling a longing for justice. But for telling the truth and the black and white part there are amiss. though they are not perfect, i am content with my parent and do not wish Atticus as a father.

2nd blog assingment

As a student it is our responsibility to pay attention in class in order to know what our homework is. It is not however the responsibility of the teacher to stand over their students shoulder to make sure they've written down what the assignment in their student planner. You may be reading this and asking yourself "what the heck is she rambling on about?" But probably not because I am pretty sure I have made myself painfully clear...I did not write down what we were suppose to blog about and therefor do not know what to write about. I take full responsibility and the inevitable 0 for the incomplete assignment that is coming my way, the only reason I wrote this is so I could apologize.I am sorry Mrs. Gilman for not paying attention.Really I am, and I will try better tomorrow.
Sorry,
Kate Matheney

The best thing about english so far.

I think the best thing we have done so far was the 'letter about ourself'. I enjoyed explaining myself and talking about the things I love. I also enjoyed it because I love English, I love reading and I am looking forward to reading the books she will assign. I hope that everyone will enjoy them selfs this year.
